Tangential Grip Clamping for Higher Productivity - That’s what you get with Iscar’s new revolutionary clamping method (patent pending), using a new single ended insert for parting.  This new Tang-Grip line offers a tangentially oriented pocket that makes for very rigid clamping and an increased pocket life.  This lets you machine at high feed rates and still achieve excellent straightness and surface finish.  Typical Self-Grip mechanisms suffer from pocket wear due to the machining forces being exerted on a very short stopper, causing a reduction in the clamping force.  The flexible jaw on the Tang-Grip is protected by the insert, so the clamping force remains unaffected.  Inserts won’t pull out during retraction since the Tang-Grip has a solid stopper.
